Intercontinental Cancels Flights to Egypt
Due to a sharp decrease in demand, the travel agency Intercontinental is ceasing to operate charter flights to Egypt. Company spokeswoman Tata Sakvarelidze has told TV3 that due to the current political instability in Cairo, customers no longer wish to travel to Hurghada, and are either asking for refunds, or for their Egyptian holiday packages to be exchanged for Turkish ones. According to her, customers are entitled to a 90% refund for the purchased packages.
According to the head of the Tourist Association, all relations between the travel agencies and their customers are regulated by the mutually signed agreements, and the issue of refunds at Intercontinental will be settled according to the terms of the contracts that were signed by the clients.
