Glenn Beck, the man who said President Barack Obama had “a deep-seated hatred for white people,” has just inked a $100 million contract to continue hosting his radio show on Premiere Networks. The controversial personality has the nation’s third-highest rated radio show behind Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity.

Beck’s income has grown exponentially over the last five years, and his estimated worth of $70 million has recently been compared to Charlie Sheen, who is said to have a net worth of $78 million.

Beck’s climb to wealth has not always looked respectable. He himself speaks of fighting his own demons during his early years in radio. Throughout late 80s and 90s, Beck has been reported to have excessively misused alcohol and drugs, and his ascent to the top of radio has been said to be at the expense of antics and insensitive jokes about minorities, especially Asians.

No matter his flaws, Beck has been able to continue his pursuit as a talk radio and TV host without a major hitch, though his statement about Obama likely caused him to lose his television advertisers.
