STEVEN GERRARD reckons Jonjo Shelvey’s call-up to the England squad can boost struggling Liverpool.

The Three Lions captain welcomed his Reds team-mate to the international fold this week.
Shelvey has played six times for England Under-21s and was a regular at U-16, U-17 and U-19 level.
Gerrard said: “I’m really pleased for Jonjo.
“He has been improving all the time since he arrived at Liverpool.
“Jonjo has grown into a good footballer with good vision who can create and score goals.
“He also listens which means he will only get better with more games and experience.”
He added: “Jonjo is playing with confidence at the moment and is in good form.
“This experience of being in the full England squad will be great for him and hopefully Liverpool will benefit from it as well.”
