Georgian peaches may reach the Azerbaijani market. According to the Minister of Agriculture Shalva Pipia, talks about exporting the product to the neighbouring country are ongoing. He adds that 80% of this year’s peach harvest has already been realised in Georgia.
Information has spread that the Kakhetian farmers are unhappy with this year’s prices of peaches. According to the spokesman at the Gurjaani Council Giorgi Chekurishvili, this year’s rich harvest has resulted in low prices, which in turn has made it problematic for the local population to sell their product. He adds that the absence of canning plants forces the farmers to sell all their products themselves.
