Georgian nationals have been advised to refrain from travelling to Egypt. The Georgian Foreign Ministry has made a statement to this effect. In the light of the current political situation in the country, the Foreign Ministry warns Georgians not to travel to the Sinai Peninsula and the Red Sea resorts. According to the statement, “crime on the Sinai Peninsula has risen significantly in recent times, and violent clashes between armed groups and law enforcement agencies have claimed lives.” The Red Sea resorts of Hurghada and Sharm-el-Sheikh have been a popular destination for Georgian nationals in recent years.
