TV3 has found out that the Georgian goods transporters’ activity is reaching its peak since the restoration of road links between Georgia and Russia. The director of the State Transport Agency Mikheil Khmaladze has told the channel that within 10 days of the road links being restored, the agency received more than 70 applications for permits from Georgian goods transporters. The activity in this regard will further increase during the next month.
The agreement to restore road links between Russia and Georgia was reached during a meeting between representatives of the Russian Transport Ministry and the Georgian Ministry of the Economy on August 7 in Moscow.
