Georgia is striving to become the regional leader in technology. Following the Prime Minister’s decision, the government will design the strategy to speed up the development process for information technologies. A coordinator council is to be established, and headed by the Prime Minister himself. According to the statement by the Ministry of the Economy, “experience has shown that investment in information technologies will positively impact trade, create jobs, and increase the Gross Domestic Product.” The Ministry of the Economy has organised the first weekly IT innovations event for 28-30 June, where participants will include representatives from Google.
