Georgian and US business authorities signed a memorandum on October 25, according to which Georgian laboratories will be authorized to issue the certificates meeting international standards. The memorandum, supported by the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Economic Prosperity Initiative (EPI), was signed during the Georgia-US business council held at Courtyard by Marriott Hotel.

The memorandum envisages cooperation in the laboratory certification sphere. Georgian laboratories will be able to issue internationally valid certificates, which are expected to promote the export of Georgian product.

Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri and the ambassador of the United States to Georgia John Bass attended the council.
