In a written response to TV3, the President of Geocell Pasi Koistinen is blaming the 8.3% fall in sales figures on the unhealthy business environment in the country. According to him, this environment is also reflected in a number of recent State tenders. Mr. Koistinen admits that his company could not compete with Magticom in a recent consolidated tender, and as a result, lost some of its customers to its rival network. The Geocell President adds that in spite of the falling sales, the company’s profit margin has increased from 38% to 44%. Following their victory in the consolidated tender, Magticom will supply all State Departments with mobile network services until February next year.
