Following the incident in Ditsi, members of the Russian military attempted to bring forward the ‘border’ in the village of Dvani, too. On 22 September, the Russian forces of occupation continued preliminary works on the installation of barriers in Dvani, which is located in the Kareli region. Representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs tried to familiarise themselves with the situation at the scene. At this time, an act of expansion of the zone of occupation has not been confirmed by the MIA. Nevertheless, the ministry has condemned the activities of the Russian forces with regards to the unlawful installation of fences and barbed wires, and has called for an immediate cessation of the process. The judgement of the Russian actions will continue in New York, where Mikheil Saakashvili will address the United Nations assembly for the last time in his capacity as the President of Georgia.
