French Government to Support the Construction of International Standard Ski-Mountainous Infrastructure in Mestia

Dimitri Gvinfadze, the Minister of Finance of Finance of Georgia and Eric Fournier, Ambassador of France to Georgia, signed a financial protocol on October 7. According to the signed financial protocol, international standard ski-mountainous infrastructure will be constructed in Mestia, Georgia’s mountainous resort in upper Svaneti. Latest technology ropeways will turn Mestia into an important location for ski-mountainous sport followers.

“French side will invest Euros 18 million in ski-mountainous infrastructure development in Mestia and in general in upper Svaneti. Construction works will start this year. Georgian government is committed to further attract local and foreign visitors in the unique Mestia resort,” declared the Minister.

French side will also assist Georgia in preparing a long-term development plan for the region.
