Former General Director of ProCredi Bank Georgia Appointed as Georgia’s Business Ombudsman

Prime Minister Vano Merabisvili, on the basis of agreement with Chairperson of Parliament Davit Bakradze appointed Maya Meredova, former General Director of ProCredit Bank Georgia, as Georgia’s business ombudsman, substituting Giorgi Pertaia.

Meredova has been working at ProCredit Bank Georgia since 2006. She was General Director of Procredit Bank Georgia in 2010-2012. In 2004-2005, she was consultant of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, in 2002-2004 she worked in Washington as World Bank consultant in private and financial sector development. In 2000-2002, Maya Meredova got her master’s degree at Johns Hopkins University in international economics and international relations. In 1997-2000 she graduated from Durham business-school in Great Britain with a bachelor’s degree. Maya Meredova is married and has one child.
