How widespread is the problem of unpaid salaries for medical personnel in various private clinics? Following several months of strikes by doctors, the Health Ministry has decided to confiscate several clinics from Aditi Ltd, citing the company’s failure to fulfil its obligations as the reason for the move. The Deputy Health Minister Dimitri Makhatadze has told TV3 that such problems are widespread. In some cases, the owner companies struggle to fulfil their duties, while in other cases, insurance companies have problems with transferring funds.
The chairman of the Doctors Union Joni Janashia has stated that the problems originate from the insurance companies, and their failure to supply the clinics with funds, as they should. The Ministry of Health will decide on the fate of the clinics confiscated from Aditi Ltd. in a week’s time.
