Fast Payment Service User Figures

Have the fast payment service companies lost some of their customers? A 4% commission charge was introduced on mobile phone balance top-ups on April 1. TV3 has sought to find out what the current situation on the market looks like. According to the director of the fast payment service company TBC Pay, the first 2 months following the introduction of the commission charge saw a considerable reduction in the number of customers using the company’s fast payment machines. However, the numbers have improved since then, and have by now reached the pre-April figures.
Zaur Gabaidze, the head of the supervisory board at the company Nova Technology, has stated that sales have dropped by 15-20% since the mobile phone operators ceased to subsidise the commission charges for the customers.
According to a spokesman at the Bank of Georgia, which kept the 0% commission rate for its fast payment services, the effectiveness of the service as a whole against the background of customer satisfaction is the highest priority for them, rather than the profitability of individual aspects of the business.
