When will new branches of the hypermarket chain Carrefour open in Tbilisi? The French brand’s new store begins operating in the Karvasla shopping centre today. The company CEO Jean-Louis Clary has told TV3 that more stores will open in the capital, though he was unable to specify the timescale and locations. He also revealed that Carrefour branches will also operate in Rustavi, Kutaisi and Batumi from next year.
“The opening of the second Carrefour branch in Tbilisi is a great challenge for us. This will give us the opportunity to assess the period of our activity in Georgia, and to look into the future. Several new branches will be added in Tbilisi soon, but the company does not intend to stop there, and will be opening stores in other Georgian cities in the near future,” Mr. Clary said.
The first Carrefour store, located on a 13 000 m2 area in the Tbilisi Mall, opened in September 2012.
