What effects have the first and second stages of the Universal Health Program had on the doctors? The Chairman of the Doctors Union Joni Janashia talks about a worsening situation, particularly for the paediatricians. He adds that the insurance companies still owe the hospitals large sums of money.

The Ministry of Health has a different take on the situation. The Deputy Minister Dimitri Makhatadze states that as a result of its program, more people are applying for medical help at the hospitals, and the salaries for the medical personnel have been increased.
