Will the upcoming presidential elections have an impact upon the economic and investment climate in the country? According to some of the experts, economic and investment activities are continuing parallel to the electoral campaigning. On the other hand, the economic expert Emzar Jgerenaia suggests that the pre-election environment is having a negative effect on the economy. Investors are taking a pause, and going into the mode of uncertainty and waiting.
The Chairman of the Branch Economy and Economic Policy Committee in the Parliament Zurab Tkemaladze states that the situation is far from disastrous, and such economic and investment delays are normal prior to elections.
