TV3 has contacted local electronics stores in order to find out what the sales of air conditioners have been like compared to the previous year. Khatuna Khutsishvili, the head of the sales department at Techno Boom, has told TV3 that there has been a minor increase in sales compared to last year. According to her, the company was hoping for a 50% increase in sales, but the expectations have not materialised. Ms. Khutsishvili sees the cooler temperatures that have been recorded this summer as the main reason.
According to the manager of another electronics store chain Techno Lux, sales of air conditioners have actually dropped by 60-65%. He has also blamed the weather for the poor sales.
