“When Mr. Trump returns to the Republic of Georgia it will be a great honor for him to sit down and discuss the Trump Tower Batumi project with Mr. Ivanishvili.” Michael D. Cohen, Executive Vice President and Special Counsel to Donald J. Trump, told The COMMERCIAL TIMES.

According to Cohen, Mr. Trump expects to return to Georgia in 2013. The U.S property mogul visited the country last time in April, 2012 when he attended the Trump Tower Batumi presentation together with the President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili. A 47 storey skyscraper will be built at Wonderland Square.

“The information being disseminated by Georgian media regarding Trump Tower Batumi is completely inaccurate. The project is a private partnership between Trump and Silk Road Group and not government sponsored. The fact that Mr.Saakashvili played a significant role in it is a testament of his love for Georgia and his deep respect for Mr. Trump,” declared Cohen. “We certainly hope that the relationship between Mr. Ivanishvili and Mr.Trump will be similar to what it was between Mr. Saakashvili and Mr. Tump.”

In March 2011 an agreement was signed in the head office of the billionaire between the Trump Organization and Silk Road Group at Trump Tower in New York, according to which United States billionaire Donald Trump stated “the projected cost to construct this five star property will be approximately USD 250 million. He further stated that the sum could increase as it is a large scale project.
