Up to 11 small manufacturers are demanding restoration of justice. The case concerns 500 m3 reserves of mineral water, of which 300 m3 are owned by IDS Borjomi. The manufacturers are asking for the remaining 200 m3 to be registered in their names, claiming that IDS Borjomi is discarding the reserves that are not under its ownership. Murtaz Ghonghadze, representing the union of the small manufacturers, has told TV3 that the protests against IDS Borjomi will continue, and that the union hopes to obtain backing from the State.
IDS Borjomi have described the manufacturers’ allegations as baseless, and are speaking of an attempt to discredit the company. They state that such allegations are harming the development of the Georgian brand.
