Will there be a moratorium on several construction projects in the historic districts of Tbilisi? An appeal to this effect has been made to Bidzina Ivanishvili by the Tbilisi Hamkari representative Aleko Elisashvili, who states that he has had no response from the Prime Minister’s office so far. The group’s open letter addresses both the Prime Minister and the Department of Culture, and calls for the protection of cultural heritage. Projects at the Culture Centre, the IMELI building, and Gudiashvili Square have been ‘blacklisted’ by Tbilisi Hamkari.
