Several obscure tenders have been raising numerous questions, according to the Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze. The minister has been speaking to TV3 about corruption schemes within AS Telasi. According to him, senior figures within the organisation had been lobbying for companies belonging to people close to them in Telasi’s own tendering processes. Mr. Kaladze says that considerable financial damage has been inflicted upon Telasi through fraudulent activities conducted by the winners of these tenders.
The Energy Minister states that several people have already been arrested by law enforcement agencies, and that investigations are continuing. It is within the Ministry’s and the State’s interests for Telasi to operate in an orderly manner and without faults, Mr. Kaladze adds.
