The National Food Agency has made a statement about the return of a shipment of the Russian company Wimm-Bill-Dann’s product Chudo to its country of origin. According to the head of the agency Kakha Sokhadze, an inspection at the customs office found the Chudo yoghurts to breach safety norms, and the shipment was therefore turned away.
Mr. Sokhadze adds that in accordance with the current legislation, all imported products are being inspected by the National Food Agency. Wimm-Bill-Dann’s products are no exception to this, and have already been inspected numerous times in the past.
TV3 has contacted the company Wimm-Bill-Dann’s office in Tbilisi, but has been unable to obtain a comment on the present issue.
