Construction of Tbilisi-Rustavi Highway is set to Begin

Construction and rehabilitation works on the new Tbilisi-Rustavi highway will begin by the end of the year, and will be carried out by 3 Georgian companies, according to the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Davit Narmania. He has refrained from naming the companies at this stage, but has said that everything is ready for the works to commence.
TV3 has also found out that the Asian Development Bank has allocated over $100 million for the project.
The new highway will be 17 kilometres long. The project also includes the construction of 2 road bypasses, 8 bridges, 2 underground crossings, and 4 foot crossing bridges.
