According to TV3’s information, collaboration between the Georgian Ministry of the Economy and the Russian Skolkovo Innovation Centre is not planned at this stage. This issue has been raised following the Russian billionaire and Skolkovo’s Director Viktor Vekselberg’s recent visit to Georgia. However, a statement from the Ministry of the Economy has described Mr. Vekselberg’s visit as being of a personal, rather than of a business nature. On the other hand, the Ministry is said to be actively working in the innovation technologies sector, and is open to any offers in this regard. At a meeting with the media held a few months ago, the Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili had raised the possibility of working together with Skolkovo with regards to innovations.
