Will the National Bank have its monitoring capabilities on the shares market limited? The legislation regarding the shares market was introduced in the Parliament by the Chairman of the Budget Finances Commission, Davit Onoprishvili. The project will see a new Legal Entity of Public Law being created in the shape of the National Shares Commission, which will determine the functions and powers of the shares. The Parliament will also consider changes relating to the National Bank, which would deprive the latter of its supervisory role on the stock markets. The President of the National Bank Giorgi Kadagidze was first to comment on the proposed legislation, stating that the regulations have to suit the country’s economy.
