Tiago Silva and Ezequiel Lavezzi both scored as French club Paris Saint Germain beat Porto 2-1 to progress to the last 16 of the Champions League as Group A winners. Porto go through as runners up.

In the other Group A game Dynamo Kiev drew with Dynamo Zagreb and qualify for the Europa league in third place.

Arsenal let a first half one nil lead slip away as Arsene Wenger’s Gunners lost 2-1 at Olympiakos. The Londoners still advance to the knockout phase but as Group B runners-up.

Bundesliga outfit Schalke won the group following a one all draw with French champions Montpellier. Olympiakos stay in Europe but in the Europa league.

Malaga confirmed top spot in Group C with a 2-2 draw with the Belgians of Anderlecht – Portuguese midfielder Duda with both goals for the Spaniards.

Seven-times European champions AC Milan go through as group runners-up despite losing at home to Zenit St Petersburg, who join Olympiakos and Kiev in Europe’s second tier competition.

Julian Schieber scored just before the hour mark to hand Borussia Dortmund a 1-0 win over eliminated Manchester City.

The German champions head into the last 16 as Group D winners and are joined in the next round by Real Madrid – who were 4-1 victors over Ajax. The Dutch champions are Europa league bound.
