The Central Election Commission is ready for the presidential elections, its head Zurab Kharatishvili has stated following a meeting with the Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili. According to Mr. Kharatishvili, CESCO is fully prepared to hold the elections at the same high standard as the most recent parliamentary elections. The presidential elections are set to take place on 1 October, although the choice of a working day to hold the event has been criticised both by the new government and the non-governmental organizations.
