Cesar Chocheli Denies Charges Against Him

Cesar Chocheli, the former Governor of Mtskheta-Mtianeti and the co-owner of the companies Barambo and Zedazeni, is to hold a press-conference today. He is to plead his innocence in front of the media. The Finance Ministry Investigation Department is accusing Mr. Chocheli, together with the former Deputy Minister of the Economy Davit Giorgadze, of fraudulently obtaining State property, and of money laundering. If found guilty, they face prison sentences of 9 to 12 years. Mr. Chocheli denies the charges.
