Bank of Georgia, the leading commercial bank in the country, signed a memorandum with Caucasus Nature Fund (CNF), Agency of Protected Areas (Georgia) and the Ministry of the Ministry of Environment Protection of Georgia. According to the memorandum, the bank will allocate USD 75 000 financing from the Future Fund of Bank of Georgia for supporting Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park during one year. President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili discussed the results of the last weekend`s disaster with Tbilisi mayor Gigi Ugulava and Minister of Finance Dimitri Gvindadze.
President said the shacks should be completely removed from Tbilisi and the construction standards should be strictly controlled in the capital. Tbilisi Mayor said fifteen families are already provided with temporary lodgings and three others will be assisted soon.
