German tuner Piecha Design picked one of the classiest Mercedes cars for their 30th anniversary celebratory model They went for the Mercedes E Class Coupe and Cabrio model. The package they’ve designed fits both models, and adds a nice touch of sport to their elegant and dignified looks without going too far.

TOKYO – Toyota Motor Corp expects to treble its operating profit this year to more than $12.5 billion, its highest since the global financial crisis, as Japan’s top automaker recovers lost ground in markets from the United States to China.
Operating profit jumped more than five-fold in January-March to $3 billion, with all production centers back up and running after last year’s earthquake, tsunami and Thai floods disrupted supply chains and cost Toyota around 400,000 cars in lost output – roughly 9 weeks’ worth of U.S. sales.

While normally the strongest of rivals, German auto giants BMW and Daimler have joined forces to help come up with the design for the electric car of the future.
Most approaches towards electric car design has so far led to vehicles that either are too heavy and too expensive or fail to meet standard safety requirements for new cars.
Now, BMW and Daimler, together with scientists at the Technical University Munich (TUM), are attempting to develop concepts for electric cars that are efficient, safe, and inexpensive.
