Borjomi Statement on the Tax Increase

The head office of the mineral water company Borjomi has stated that an increase in tax on the mineral water products will affect their competitiveness. A spokesman at the company’s head office has explained that due to the tax increase, Borjomi’s exports will become considerably dearer, and the sales numbers will decrease significantly. A 30 GEL increase in tax on mineral water products is due to come into effect on 1 October, and has been initiated by the Ministry of the Economy and the Natural Resources Agency.
