TV3 can exclusively reveal that a lien has been placed upon the Turtle Lake territory. The former owner of Turtle Lake Besik Khardziani has stated that the Municipal Court approved his request to have a lien placed on the territory a week ago. He plans to submit his legal case before the end of the week, and the fate of Turtle Lake will be decided in approximately a month’s time. According to Mr. Khardziani, he first took legal action against the current owners of Turtle Lake in October last year, with a view to have the property returned to him. However, the Prosecutor General’s Office was slow to investigate the case, so he turned to the Municipal Court.
Besik Khardziani used to own half of the Turtle Lake territory, which is valued at GEL 10 million.
