Basis Bank Opened a New Branch in Gldani District

Basis Bank consumers are welcome to use the bank’s services in a newly-opened branch in Gldani. The new branch was officially opened by Zurab Tsikhistavi, Chairman of Supervisory Board of Basis Bank and Zhang Jun, Executive Chairman of Supervisory Board of the bank, on September 25.

“We’re expanding branch network. At this branch, which will serve physical and juridical persons, people will be able to get access to different banking products,” declared Tsaava. According to him, despite the Chinese investment providence in the bank, all the employees are Georgians.

“Chinese investment will assist us to launch new products,” stated the Chairman of Supervisory Board of Basis Bank.

Zhang Jun, Executive Chairman of Supervisory Board of Basis Bank, Deputy General Manager of the Hualing Group, expressed his gratitude to the bank’s management and employees a fruitful cooperation.

With the entrance of new shareholders, changes occurred in the Basis Bank’s Supervisory Board. Currently, the board consists of five members: Zurab Tsikhistavi maintains his Chairman position, Zhang Jun has been appointed the Executive Chairman of Supervisory Board, Zhou and Mi Zaiqi Ning, representatives of the Chinese investment bank, became the members of the Supervisory Board, Sabina Dziurman (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development) also maintained her position as the board member.

“The main priority for our bank is to assist the development of small and medium size businesses. Gldani is one of the most active districts in the city, which is expressed in the massive openings of new businesses here, reflecting on its side on lease cost, which is quite high,” noted Tsikhistavi. “Almost all commercial banks are represented here. Basis Bank is committed to remain competitive by offering new products. Eventually, all that will benefit the development of Georgian business environment. Georgian enterprises will get loans with further improved conditions.”

According to the Chairman of Supervisory Board of Basis Bank, no Chinese company owns such significant shares in no bank. As he later added, with this investment, new opportunities were opened for the future development of Basis Bank. The bank plans to offer new products soon.

In near future Basis Bank plans to open a service center in Kutaisi.
