Banks to gain Access to more Personal Data

Commercial banks could be given access to information on people’s incomes, the head of Credit-Info Georgia has stated. According to him, commercial banks and microfinance groups are interested in expanding their information databases, and are currently in talks with government officials on this issue.
The chairman of the Banks Association Zurab Gvasalia has stated that having access to information about people’s incomes is very important for commercial banks to assess their risks. This information will only be obtained by the banks with the customers’ consent, Mr. Gvasalia has added.
