Will allowing access to the information about people’s income create problems in the relationship between the banks and their customers? TV3 continues to explore this issue. The founder of the New Economic School Irakli Shavishvili claims that this measure will violate the notion of confidentiality of a client’s account. He adds that there is a real danger of people losing trust towards the banks, and avoiding placing their savings into the banks in the future.
On the other hand, the expert Irakli Lekvinadze does not see a problem with the proposed measure. He points out that if the need arises, the banks can already gain access to the information about the client. According to Mr. Lekvinadze, compiling information about people’s incomes in Credit Info will make the whole process considerably easier.
