The Bank of Georgia has announced that it is introducing a new security system in the light of the armed robbery carried out at one of its service centres last week. A spokesman at the bank has told TV3 that the new system will put the law enforcement agencies hot on the trail of the perpetrators. According to the spokesman, the amount of financial damage sustained by the BOG through robberies in recent times has been minimal, and the cases are usually solved quickly. There have been several instances of armed robberies at the BOG branches this year. In contrast, VTB Banks and Basisbank have reported no such cases, and are therefore not planning to review their security systems.
