What is the audit firms’ assessment of the planned changes to the Alternative Audit project? The project allows manufacturers to choose whether to either be inspected by the Tax Services, or by an audit. It has been criticised by the Monetary Fund, as confirmed recently by the Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri. What precise form the changes will take, is currently unknown. According to Shota Valishvili, a spokesman for the company RSM Capto Group, the important thing is to establish a single system and quality control, which would make matters easier both for the audits and the taxpayers. He adds that none of the audit firms have received any communications from the Finance Ministry’s Tax Department so far.
The company AAF Management is also awaiting specific actions by the Tax Services. A company spokesman has stated that the main thing is for the changes to provide improvements for the taxpayer. The Alternative Audit project was regarded as one the former government’s most significant reforms.
