The campaign against smoking will be fully operational by September. The head of the National Disease Control Centre Amiran Gankrelidze has told TV3 that the plan of action will be reviewed at this week’s government session. If approved, the plan will come into effect in September and will oblige each State Department to allocate a certain amount of its funds to the anti-smoking campaign. The campaign will include the production of several commercials, and staging of various events. According to Mr. Gamkrelidze, the Ministries of Finance and Economy will ensure an appropriate distribution of funds.
