Another Large Investment in the Energy Sector

The Ministry of Energy and the company Mtkvari Energy have signed a memorandum regarding the construction of 16 new hydroelectric power plants. The memorandum allows for a preliminary technological and economic research process, which is to last for 27 months. The construction works are to begin afterwards. The total power of the planned power plants is to exceed 331 mw, while the annual productivity is to reach 2 billion kw/h. A total of $600 million will be invested into the projects. The power plants are to be situated at the riverbed of Mtkvari.
