The amount of money spent by the commercial banks on their employees has increased by 8.5 times between 2003 and 2013. The figure reached the 210 923 000 GEL mark during the first half of the current year. According to the National Bank’s statistics, the banks were steadily increasing their payments towards supporting the apparatus between 2003 and 2008, although their spending in this direction was reduced by 11 million GEL in 2009, following the war with Russia in previous year. However, the figures started to increase once again in 2010, and during the first half of 2011, the banks spent up to 193 million GEL to support their employees, which represented an 18 million GEL increase compared to the same period in the previous year.
