Amendments Made to Labor Code according to Businessmen’s Recommendations

Amendments are made to the labor code according to businessmen’s recommendations. Changes envision work week hours, paid leave and contract ceasing chapters-the issues that has not been solved up to now.
According to the agreement achieved during the healthcare committee, work timeline should not exceed 40 hours a week.
However, different timeline-48 hours a week is set for specific workers. Also, non-paid leave period has been cut from 15 to 10 days.
The amendments also say that employer can notify the employee no less than 3 days in advance about dismissing them. In this case the employ should be paid at least 2-months compensation.
Irakli Petriashvili, Leader of Professional Unions, stated that the amendments will worsen the conditions of employees.
