Agricultural Sector’s Contribution to GDP Growth

How did the investment into the agricultural sector reflect upon the country’s economic growth? The Minister of Agriculture Shalva Pipia has told TV3 that the investments have led to a substantial increase in the gross domestic product. The minister singled out the Cheap Agricultural Loans programme, which, according to him, has been a great success.
The effectiveness and success of the programmes in the agricultural sector has also been addressed by the Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri, who stated that the department’s initiatives have had a positive effect on the country’s economic development. According to him, 7-8% of the country’s GDP comes from the agricultural sector.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Agriculture, the current and future projects will lead to a further growth of the GDP.
