Georgian Government to Distribute Electricity Vouchers

On February 20, 2012 the Prime Minister of Georgia, Nika Gilauri, gave a briefing at the Chancellery of the Government with respect to distribution of electricity vouchers.
” This year in Georgia we have very cold winter. Much snow, much precipitation, frosts have caused many problems to our population. The Government is doing everything to solve these problems in the shortest time possible, I mean roads and energy.” Declared Georgian PM.
According to Gilauri, by order of the President the government has launched electricity vouchers program, 20 GEL electricity voucher will be assigned to every family.
“Last year we implemented the same type of program, and this year the same principle will be observed. Vouchers will be distributed to over 1 million 200 thousand families approximately, which will make easier and simplify electricity payment by our fellow citizens during this period,” said Georgian PM.
Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs will be responsible for distribution of vouchers.
In case of any problem citizens can contact the hot line to solve any problem as soon as possible.
“As for the amount, in total it makes about 25 million GEL, which was allocated out of the Reserve Fund” – stated Gilauri.
